The Glass Factory Apartments consist of 45 units of supported housing for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Fully renovated in 1996, the Glass Factory is a permanent SRO housing facility funded by the NYC Human Resource Administration's HIV/AIDS Services Administration and the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development. In addition to providing permanent housing for its tenants, Glass Factory offers a variety of supportive services aimed at helping clients stabilize their health, maintain their independence and build a community of support among peers. These services include case management, medication monitoring, referrals to medical facilities, health education, psychiatric management, entitlement support and money management, recreational act.



Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday; 9:00a-5:30p
24 hour on call


Responsible for the management of all facets of a 45-unit congregate permanent supportive housing program for formerly homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Many of the tenants are also diagnosed with substance abuse disorders and are mentally ill. Oversee the development and implementation of service plans and the clinical coordination of services; ensure program services are delivered to meet clients' needs; ensure tenant rent payment and reporting meets expectations; ensure compliance with contracts and regulations including internal and external reporting requirements; provide effective program leadership and supervision of staff.  Provide 24-hour on-call management and support. Emergency first aid and CPR assistance as needed. Related duties as assigned. This position reports to the Deputy Executive Director for Treatment and Housing Services. 



BA Required. Masters degree preferred in a social services discipline, other related field. Significant experience working in a transitional or supportive housing setting with individuals who are diagnosed with HIV/AIDS or who have substance abuse and/or psychiatric disorders preferred.  Experience with harm reduction and motivational interviewing techniques. Demonstrable written and oral communication, and group facilitation skills. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.
