POSITION: Research Development Manager
PROGRAM/UNIT: Administration
HOURS: Full-time – with flexibility in scheduling available


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and working closely with the development and communications team in a fast paced, mission-driven department, the Research Development Manager will be responsible for leading individual and institutional research effort as well as collaborating to help expand philanthropic institutional support. Responsibilities include:

• Researching donor prospect opportunities from individuals, foundations and corporations

• Developing systems for detailed background reporting and prioritization of donor prospects

• Writing LOI's and grant proposals for prospective institutional and corporate support.

• Managing grant schedule with new and current foundation supporters, including major philanthropic players.

• Assisting Director of Grants Management with collecting data, financial reporting and relevant supportive material for grants.

• Developing and maintaining competency in BRC's mission, work and needs through regular exposure to BRC activities, clients and staff

• Performing other related duties as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA preferred.

• Self-motivated, able to work independently and responsibly, with limited supervision

• Superb writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to translate complex ideas into accessible and engaging prose.

• Proven track record of designing and managing communication strategies.

• Energy, initiative, intellect, flexibility and a team player.

• Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.

• Computer literacy required; excellent database, word-processing, spreadsheet skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, and work accurately under the pressure of a deadline-focused job.

• Excellent communication skills; discretion and diplomacy in dealing with the key organizational stakeholders.
