PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

BRC maintains 390 supported apartments throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx through the HomePlus program. These apartments are dedicated for formerly homeless individuals with a history of mental illness and/or substance abuse, and are funded by a variety of state and city mental health agencies, including the NYS Office of Mental Health, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services. BRC's HomePlus operations have grown significantly in recent years, including 131 units for substance abusing, chronically homeless individuals that were brought on line in 2008 and 65 units of scattered-site housing for formerly homeless individuals with a history of mental illness that were brought on line in 2009 and 2010.

 

HOURS:

Full time, 37.5 hours per week 
Monday - Friday; 9:00am - 5:30pm

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the Program Director in managing the day-to-day operations as well as with residential and therapeutic programming and service development.  Provide supervision for clinical supervisors, train staff in clinical interventions and techniques, and audit clinical charts. Co-facilitate staff meetings and assist with program reporting, provides crisis intervention with clients and emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed. Related Duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

LMSW Required. LCSW preferred.  Management experience required. Candidates must be creative and show strong evidence of progressive leadership experience, excellent written and oral communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, strong computer skills. Budgetary experience and strong organizational skills, previous experience working with MICA and/or homeless population. . CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.
