Located on the Lower East Side, Los Vecinos Apartments is a permanent SRO housing facility with a capacity for 35 formerly homeless men and women suffering from mental illness, substance abuse and HIV/AIDS. The program is funded by the NYC Department of Homeless Services, the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the NYC Human Resources Administration's HIV/AIDS Services Administration. In addition to providing permanent housing for its tenants, Los Vecinos offers a variety of services aimed at helping clients stabilize their health, maintain their independence and build a community of support among peers. These services include case management, referrals to medical facilities and assistance managing health conditions, medication monitoring, health education, psychiatric management, entitlement support and money management, recreational activities, assistance with activities of daily living and free meals.



Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday; 9:00a-5:30p



Responsible for assisting Program Director in management of day-to-day operation of congregate supportive housing program serving formerly homeless clients with serious mental illness, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse disorders, and other clinical disabilities. Supervise assigned staff, including case managers and health care coordinator. Oversee the development and implementation of service plans and clinical coordination of services to clients through auditing of clinical charts, facilitating interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences, and other supervisory techniques. Train staff in clinical interventions and harm reduction techniques. Ensure compliance with government funded contracts and regulations. Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required, and attend meetings in the absence of the Program Director. Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed. Related duties as assigned.



MSW or related graduate degree preferred and BA required. Significant experience working with individuals who are chronically homeless, seriously mentally ill, and/or living with HIV/AIDS. Demonstrable written and oral communication and group  facilitation skills. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Two years experience in clinical and administrative supervision preferred. CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.
