PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

This 103-bed women's shelter in Brooklyn serves a population suffering from multiple issues including mental illness, substance abuse and serious medical problems. The program offers the full range of case management services as well as on-site psychiatric and medical care. It also incorporates a workforce development component for women who can benefit from this service. The Lexington Avenue Women's Residence is funded by the NYC Department of Homeless Services.

 

HOURS:                                             Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

                                                            Tuesday - Saturday; 9:00am-5:30pm

                                                             

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:    

Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of facility.  Sweep and mop floor, clean bathrooms, and windows.  Empty garbage.  Receive deliveries, lift boxes and pick-up supplies.  Maintain inventory. Fill in at front desk as needed and related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:          

Experience in housekeeping. Ability to write, read, and communicate in English.
