JOB TITLE:          Director of Information Technology

PROGRAM/UNIT:             Administration

HOURS:                                Full-time, 37.5 hours per week


Reporting to the Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, the Director of IT's role is to provide vision and leadership for developing, implementing and managing information technology systems and initiatives; ensure reliable, effective, efficient, and secure operations so as to meet the short and long-term strategic needs of the organization. This includes directing all IT operations including telecommunications, to meet user requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions, as required.


  • Responsible for overseeing the organization's IT infrastructure and ensure all the organization's financial and operational applications and systems run without issue and that the technology and telecommunication infrastructure is optimized for security, availability, resiliency, scalability, and efficiency
  • Analyze complex business needs/requirement by user community and recommend technical solution
  • Ensure the consistent and continued maintenance of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards, procedures, and compliance requirements when implementing technical solutions
  • Direct operations in executing production tasks for the network environment based on a documented procedures and schedules in association with the current or future MSP
  • Produce a detailed time line for application updates and implement effective project control by monitoring software releases and tracking versions, as required
  • Participate in all hardware and software evaluations as well as review and maintain vendor contracts
  • Participate in education/training developmental programs for the organization's staff, as required
  • Develop and implement IT and telecommunications disaster recovery plans
  • Act as a liaison between users, operations, and vendors
  • Ensure the integrity of BRC's systems and data by maintaining a vigorous monitoring of system including by not limited to identifying security vulnerabilities and eliminating them with strategic solutions that increase data safety.
  • Act as agency's primary resource for telecommunications, including but not limited to recommending and implementing appropriate configurations for all facilities, establish and maintain contracts with telecommunications providers, establish and maintain policy regarding mobile communications. Monitor performance in all areas of telecommunication.
  • Serve as HIPAA technical compliance officer
  • Related duties as required



  • Extensive knowledge in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications while developing dashboards, key performance indicators and metrics that demonstrate progress
  • Understanding BRC-like (i.e. Not For Profit) environments for operational and general business requirements
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and motivate professional staff
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT best practices in a nonprofit environment


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or related experience
  • Eight (8) years' experience within Information Technology preferred
