Program Description: 

This 103-bed women's shelter in Brooklyn serves a population suffering from multiple issues including mental illness, substance abuse and serious medical problems. The program offers the full range of case management services as well as on-site psychiatric and medical care. It also incorporates a workforce development component for women who can benefit from this service. The Lexington Avenue Women's Residence is funded by the NYC Department of Homeless Services..

 

HOURS:                                            Full time, 37.5 hours per week

 

Monday-Friday; 10:00am - 6:30pm

                                                             

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Supervise kitchen staff.  Under the supervision of the Food Service Director, is responsible for the overall coordination of food service including serving, packing, and delivery and clean up. Provide instruction to participants in training to prepare them for the Food Protection Certificate. Related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                      

Experience in food service, preferable in a management position. Qualifying certificate in Food Protection from the NYC Dept. of Health required. BA preferred. High School diploma or GED required. Culinary Arts degree a plus.
