The Vice President, Facility Support Services reports to the EVP/COO and is an active member of the program services management team. This position has oversight of facility management and related support services of 27 different programs in 19 separate locations (three additional programs currently being developed) throughout Manhattan, the Bronx, and Brooklyn.

JOB DUTIES

  • Directly supervise facilities managers and oversee day-to-day operation of facility maintenance and select food service operations.
  • Works with facility mangers to assign duties such as maintenance, repair, or renovation and obtains bids for additional work from outside contractors, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all agency regulations; ensure compliance with government regulations, and prompt response to all DOB, HPD, FDNY and other violations
  • Effectively and positively coordination between facility maintenance and program service staff.
  • Review and update capital plans and requirements for each building
  • Manages internal staff, outside vendors and consultants involved in facility operations.
  • Responsible life safety code and may services as safety officer.  
  • Analyze the operation of various site infrastructure systems, determine the cause of any problem / malfunctions and take corrective action as required. 
  • Provides training and support to expand the capabilities of facility staff. 
  • Oversee the maintenance and security of all files; the maintenance of automobile fleet, management and expense control.
  • Inspects all properties on a regular basis to ensure BRC standards are being implemented. 
  • Competitively bids all services to assure high quality and cost effective services.  Assembles and analyzes bids to select service providers. 
  • Approves purchases of supplies and equipment for use at managed buildings.
  • Related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GED/High School diploma required.
  • Building systems certifications (electric, mechanical, plumbing, etc.) desirable
  • At least 5 years of property management and effective supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to homeless individuals who are mentally ill, chemically addicted
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including report writing ability.
